ATELIER ATELIER FAR WAS FOUNDED IN 2015 BY THE ARCHITECTS DIMITRI CHATZIPETROS AND TOMAS MICHALSKI. DIMITRI CHATZIPETROS IS A GREEK-ITALIAN ARCHITECT LIVING AND WORKING BETWEEN NEW YORK AND MILAN SINCE 2010. HE GRADUATED WITH A MASTER DEGREE IN ARCHITECTURE AT POLITECNICO OF MILAN. DURING HIS STUDIES HE PARTICIPATED IN SEVERAL WORKSHOPS ABROAD IN CHILE, TANZANIA AND A FULL YEAR IN THE NETHERLANDS AT THE EINDHOVEN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY. HIS FIFTEEN YEAR LONG PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE INCLUDES DESIGN AND REALIZATION OF PUBLIC SPACES, LANDSCAPE, ART INSTALLATION, EXHIBITION AND SET DESIGN, STORE AND INTERIOR DESIGN. HE WORKED FOR SEVERAL ARCHITECTURAL FIRMS IN ITALY, NEW YORK AND SWITZERLAND, NOTABLY THE STUDIO OF ATTILIO STOCCHI, FIELD OPERATIONS, NMM BY_LISSONI. IN ADDITION, HE WAS THE ASSISTANT OF THE MEXICAN PAINTER RAYMUNDO SESMA FOR SEVERAL ART INSTALLATIONS IN MILAN. MANY OF THE PROJECTS HE HAS WORKED ON HAVE BEEN PUBLISHED IN INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECTURAL MAGAZINES (ABITARE, DOMUS, INVENTARIO), BOOKS AND PRESENTED AT THE XII BIENNALE IN VENICE. HE ALSO PARTICIPATES IN UNIVERSITY REVIEWS AT CUNY AND IS COLLABORATING ON AN ONGOING RESEARCH ON URBAN AGRICULTURE IN DETROIT. HE IS FOCUSED ON THE INTEGRATION OF ARCHITECTURE, SOCIAL SPACES, LANDSCAPE AND THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT. HE HAS A PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO SYMBOLIC AND CULTURAL MEANINGS, SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE AND AN HOLISTIC APPROACH TO THE DESIGN FIELD. TOMAS MICHALSKI IS AN AMERICAN ARCHITECT GRADUATED FROM RHODE ISLAND SCHOOL OF DESIGN WITH A B. OF ARCHITECTURE AND B. OF ARTS. IN ADDITION HE SPENT 1 YEAR IN ROME STUDYING ARCHITECTURE AND ART HISTORY. DURING THE 20+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD OF ARCHITECTURE HE WORKED FOR NUMEROUS FIRMS IN NYC NOTABLY ROGERS MARVEL ARCHITECTS AND ESTABLISHED HIS OWN PRACTICE IN 2008 PRIOR TO FUND ATELIER FAR. HE HAS COLLABORATED ON PROJECTS IN VARIOUS RELATED FIELDS SUCH AS INTERIOR DESIGN, FURNITURE DESIGN, FASHION AND INDUSTRIAL DESIGN. THE UNDERLYING ASPECT OF HIS CREATIVITY AND FABRICATION/CONSTRUCTION IS A DEDICATION TO DETAILS CONTRASTED WITH A PASSION FOR BROADENING THE POSSIBILITIES INHERENT IN MATERIALS AND THE PRECONCEIVED NOTIONS ASSOCIATED WITH ESTABLISHED NORMS.
